Father Joe's

Father Joe's Villages: Get Help

Father Joe’s Village has a ton of resources across multiple buildings and locations, all very accessible and useful, like emergency shelters and temporary housing.

YMCA

Turning Point: Transitional Living Program

This resource has transitional housing for up to eighteen months for 16-21 year olds who are currently experiencing or at risk of homelessness. It’s not free, but it has rent adjusted by income. They also hold classes for independent living skills and financial literacy.

Rapid Re-Housing

Rapid rehousing provides both deposits and rental assistance, although their rehousing services mostly apply to families who have recently lost homes.

City of San Diego Homelessness Response Center

The San Diego Housing Commission contains lots of good information and offers some housing. 

Housing First - San Diego

The San Diego Housing Commision program gives lots of extended resources and aims to provide housing first, although it is mostly designed and tested for families.

Pathfinders Of San Diego

Permanent Supportive Housing

Pathfinders of San Diego requires you to have been homeless for a year (it can be on and off, not continuously), but it is one of the most comprehensive in terms of providing quality long-term housing.

Home Start

Host Homes

Home start provides a huge amount of resources, including several forms of therapy online and in person, in multiple languages. A major facet of their organization is the Host Homes service, which offers homes for youth from volunteers.

California department of social services

Transitional Housing Programs for Foster Youth in California

Social service’s transitional housing applies only to foster youth and even then has a hefty list of requirements, but they do offer safe and stable housing, a mentorship program, life skills training, health services, and educational/employment support.

urban street angels

Since 2012, Urban Street Angels has helped homeless youth to develop the essential life and job skills they need in order to leave the streets for good.

Urban Street Angels is a nonprofit in San Diego, started in 2012. They help homeless youth by offering housing, peer support, mentors, mental health help, and job training. Their goal is to prepare young people for jobs and help them become more independent.
